ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spring Flowers Live session was delayed to a special day. It’ll happen Thursday, June 3 at 7:15 p.m. I’ll post a link in the fb group and the shownotes. https://youtu.be/Fl_pEEKxH1w

I put a poll in the fb group saying that the Listener Image Review would be delayed due to the holiday weekend. I also asked if there was a preferred day of the week, and thus far there’s only six responses saying that Thursday is the preferred day, like we’ve been doing them. If you’d like to chime in on that poll please find it in the fb group and look for it, I marked it as an announcement so it should be easy to find.

The Topic for June, 2021, is: #RecentTrips

This can mean a simple trip to the local park, something you made on the way to work, or something more involved. Your challenge is to only show photos made in 2021. Let’s see what you’ve been working on.

I also posted a link, and it’s in the shownotes too, about a juried exhibition of fine art photographs. https://paperartscollective.com

It’s sponsored by Moab paper among others in the fine art photography industry. I’m considering making a submission and I encourage any printers out there to consider doing the same. It’s got some really great terms for entry for us photographers. It costs money to enter, but the prizes are great and the respect of your copyright is even better!

MAIN TOPIC

My conversation with photographer, Marc Silber  https://www.silberstudios.com

  1. Tell us about you and your photography, wherever you’d like to start.
  2. On your website you say that you’re obsessed with photography. Tell us about that obsession. What is it about photography that continually draws you in?
  3. Five stages of photography (briefly review equipment, capturing, processing, sharing, Visualization)
  4. Debunking myths in photography. They are…
    1. Photography is really easy
    2. You have to shoot in manual mode
    3. Gear becomes more important than the art of photography

Marc’s Eiffel Tower Image Mentioned in the episode: https://images.app.goo.gl/KrMfD5waZUymzkgA9

The Cycle of Photography and it’s parts (more detail maybe than what we’ve already covered with the five stages)

  1. Telling a story, visually
  2. Ability to visualize
  3. Study others’ work
  4. Learn the equipment
  5. Once mastered, you’ll learn to capture the image you love
  6. Post production…
  7. Sharing the work
